Heidi has been standing solidly for a few weeks and cruising along the furniture with ease. I set Christmas as my over/under date for first steps. Last week she sort of took a couple of steps on her own but it was more like an accidental careening while trying to stand still. Then, sure enough, on Christmas Eve, she started walking with purpose.
She always looks SUPER DUPER HAPPY to be walking. Being a biped is just delightful! She still prefers crawling as a method of transportation (probably because she's lightning fast at it) but she can walk any time she wants. If I stand her up and say, "Let's try walking!" she takes five or six little frankenstein steps with a giant smile on her face. Right now it's a parlor trick but it'll only be another month before she's running after Henry and Ingrid.

Go Heidi! She is adorable and such a big girl! Pretty hilarious that the YouTube video that was set to follow your little Heidi's first steps was also titled "Heidi Walks" featuring Heidi Klum down the runway.
