Fifteen Months

Holy toddler, Batman.  Our sweet baby child turned into a Tasmanian devil of a toddler this month.  A cute devil, but yeah, a little bit of a devil.

She has had her first truly epic meltdowns.  It usually starts when she wants something and we can't figure out what it is, but when she gets going...yowza.  One day she screamed for a solid thirty minutes.  Karl and I eventually gave up offering her objects, treats, and cuddles and went about our business.

Perhaps worse are the days when just everything is terrible.  We've had a lot of this for the past few weeks.  She demands to be held 100% of the day and still sort of hates everything.  Probably didn't help that Karl traveled one week, then I dragged her all over the place while I was running events at the kids' school last week.  And she's cracking four molars.  Poor kid.

Everything is terrible.
On the plus side of toddler, she has all kinds of new words this month:

Ba - Ball, bird, and [granola] bar
Bao - Balloon
Zhyoooo - Shoe
Pae - Play
Pobby - Potty
Box
Bwabwee - Blankie
Beebee - Baby
Neenee - Umbrella
Scooscoo - Scooping beans
Coo - Scooter
Ga - All gone
Nana! - I want to watch videos of cousin Nona on your phone
Owie - Heard repeatedly after falling down one hundred times a day
Uh-oh
Wawa - Water
Cackack - Lilacs (she likes to smell them)
Keekee - Kitty

She is also showing a lot of interest in the potty.  I started putting her on the pot when she told me she needed to go and she successfully peed twice!  We got really excited for her and gave her an M&M each time.  Then it became more of a joke, so now every time she needs to go, she says, "Pobby?  Candeeeeee!" with a giant stinker grin on her face.

If we're outside, she likes to run up and down the block and pick up random objects.  If we're inside, she really likes the play kitchen, scooping beans, transferring food to pots for me, and destroying whatever Ingrid and Henry are working on.  She loves Ingrid's old baby doll and her blankie from Uncle Eric and Auntie Julia.

DC had two nice, hot spring days before reverting to endless Seattle weather.  Heidi super duper loved those days.  Hopefully summer will come soon and we can get this kid in the pool.
