Epic Weekend of Bodily Discovery

Henry discovered both toes and tongue over the weekend!

The fingers are now more useful but no longer interesting (Mom, fingers are soooo three-months-old), but he gets really excited when his toes wander into view.  Watching him try to chew on the toes is pretty entertaining -- he can't reliably bring his feet to his mouth, so usually he tries to bring the mountain to Mohammed, craning his entire upper body forward in slow motion with his mouth wide open until he makes contact.  Sometimes his giant belly gets in the way and adult assistance becomes necessary.

Late last week, he learned to stick his tongue out -- not in any "nyah nyah" gesture, just hanging out there making him look slightly drunk.  He soon figured out that if he blew at the same time, it made an excellent sound, and thereby discovered the joy of blowing raspberries.   The raspberries are already an essential part of his communication repertoire and can be used to add emphasis to whatever he's telling us, which means that his stories are punctuated with significant amounts of drool.  It's much cuter than it sounds.

He has his four-month checkup today, which means more shots (boo) and new growth stats (hooray!) coming up this afternoon.
