Four Month Checkup

Henry's checkup last week went well.  He gave the nurses big smiles and showed them all his best tricks.  Of course, that didn't save him from getting four more scream-inducing shots, but at least I was better prepared this time and had Karl there for moral support.

The four-month stats:
Weight: 19 lbs 1 oz (off the charts)
Length: 28.5 inches (even more off the charts)
Head: 43cm (75th percentile)

As of last Wednesday, Henry was sleeping from 8:00 to 7:30 every night without waking up, pooping every other day, and eating six times a day.  The doctor told us this was all absolutely perfect and we should try really hard not to screw it up.

Later that very day, Henry was chewing on my finger and I felt something sharp -- teeth?  Is our four-month-old teething?  Yes, oh yes, he is.  Two sharp little buggers coming in on the bottom.  He's been rubbing his face on our shoulders and his mattress, chewing on things even more than normal, and is obviously uncomfortable sometimes.  I feel so bad for him -- even when he's trying to gnaw on both hands at the same time, he's a sweet and good-natured guy, and there's so little we can do to make him feel better.  We're all grateful for baby Tylenol.

Unfortunately, he hasn't slept through the night all week, has taken to pooping two or three times a day again, and is on no  kind of eating schedule anymore.  We're blaming it all on the teeth.  Clearly Karl and I didn't manage to screw it all up by ourselves in just one week.
