Stairway to Awesome

Ravi is significantly more physically adept than Henry.  The kid is crawling all over the place and can scale our huge central staircase with ease.  The first time Ravi went for the stairs, Henry totally ratted him out and started hollering for Elaine, which we all found pretty hilarious -- eight months old and already a goody-two-shoes.

Henry has apparently revised his initial opinion of stair-climbing and wants to join in the excitement.  Too bad he still can't get his knees and belly off the ground at the same time, so he can only lean against the first step or two.   Stair-climbing, chubby baby style:

First check to see that someone is watching.  All good tricks need an audience.

Get into position.

Push with your feet so your body lunges forward.  If you don't make it up onto the second step, you can always chew on it.

Pause for cheering and adoration.

Give up.  Make honey badger face.

Pose for bonus photos.

  1. What a cutie! Love the honey badger face. Enjoy the glory days of a non-stair-climbing child.

  2. It's a start! Pretty soon he'll be flying up and down those stairs, much to mom's horror.
