Week Two

Another week just flew by! We had a great visit with Uncle Eric and Aunt Julia this weekend.

We introduced Hal to some of the Garfield Commune's finer traditions: happy hour featuring Beecher's cheese and Salumi meats, dinner at a Top Chef Master's restaurant, and several hours of Settlers of Catan.

Henry is already different than he was last week. He is noticeably more alert and seems to focus for longer on specific objects, rather than just gazing around. He also slept for nearly 6 hours on Saturday night, which was totally awesome as soon as Mommy ascertained that baby was still breathing.

We're unexpectedly loving this newborn phase. I know a lot of parents can't wait for the first few months to end (sorry, all you folks whose babies didn't sleep 4-6 hours at a time) and I know it will be delightful to watch Hal develop into a walking, talking boy. But I sure will miss these sweet, snuggly days of lounging on the couch together.
