Seattle

Henry's globetrotting continued with a boys-only trip to Seattle last month.  Karl had some conference budget to burn, so he signed up for an event in Seattle, and the boys headed off for a week of banking and Uncle Eric.

Henry handled the six-hour flight like the first-class traveler that he is.  He watched movies on his iPad for three hours, summoned the flight attendant to ask for a blanket, and rolled over and slept for the rest of the flight.

All flights have ice cream sundaes in Henry's world.

The boys ran the full Seattle circuit.  Great views from Highland Park.  Hiking to the lighthouse in Discovery Park.  Pho Than.  Dick's Burgers.  Pike Place Market.

They also managed to fit in a couple of real hikes (this banking conference sounds really hard, doesn't it?).  Apparently, Henry only likes the hard parts of the hikes.

Sign of a good hike.

Best of all, they got to spend loads of time with Eric, Julia, and Alden.  Henry told me that taking care of baby Alden was his favorite part of the trip.  There's a video of the boys dancing stark naked on the table to "Everything Is Awesome," but I'm saving it for blackmail.  Henry also told Karl that he loves him, but he loves Uncle Eric a lot

Update: found even more pictures in my phone.  I forgot to mention that while Karl was at his conference, Henry got to hang out at Sunnyside, Aunt Linda's Montessori school.  Karl reported that Henry cried when he dropped him off but then didn't want to leave at the end of the day.  Seems like having work to do and having the older kids around really suited him, which was a very helpful data point as we weigh our school options.  Frankly, I would also like to hang out at Linda's house all day, so I'm not surprised he had a good time.
