Cherry Blossoms Redux
My parents were here last month -- the first time in eight years that we've lived in DC that they managed to be here right at the peak of the cherry blossoms. They (read: Jane only) wanted to see them, and I wanted to take Henry for pictures. This shot of him and Karl was one of my favorite pictures of his entire babyhood, and I wanted an updated version.
I dressed him in some extra-adorable plaid shorts and a fetching blue shirt and we braved the hordes of tourists downtown. But my complacent and fretful-looking baby has turned into a rather willful toddler, and dude did not want to take pictures. So instead of a sweet smile...
We have this:
and this:
and this:
and a charming family shot:
Oh, this one is sort of cuddly and sweet:
if you don't look at the rest of the series...
At least we got a couple of good ones with Gigi:
and one family shot in which each of us looks about 80% normal.
I'll take it. Until next year.

Don't want to burst your future photo bubble but boys don't get any better at posing for photos. Get what you can when you can and hope that one in 100 will turn out. The blossoms were lovely!
